Mile 1427 - Broadmoor, Colorado Springs

We took our time this morning and are just now leaving. First stop is the Broadmoor Hotel where MKa used to go on family vacations. She is excited to see how it looks today. They say they have 18 restaurants and a plethora of other amenities. Nightly stays are over $300. Here is their website: www.broadmoor.com We had trouble uploading photos this a.m. Managed to get a few. Will try again later. We are planning to make it to the Vail area tonight. Mile. 5: 2 pm ...just left th e Broadmoor after lunch at the golden Bee (an English Pub that was dismantled From England and Rebuilt here at The Broadmoor). We had fish and chips,excellent soup and Colorado advice from our chatty waiter who was moonliting from his "real" job at the prison in Florence, Colorado. We also met a Colorado natIve descended from two native Texans. He grew up in Colorado Springs and has seen all the changes made over the last 32 years. Bella received her Birthday Bee from him ...photo to be posted later. MKa got a regular bee as did Bella. They have an interesting tradition odd throwing the sticky bee at you. We walked around the lake and took a picture of the infinity pool... (insert picture here) As we were completing the path around the lake Bella spied two men in uniform (EMTs) and asked if they would mind taking a picture of the two of us. Here. It is: (insert picture) We started looking at the Wall of Fame pictures of celebrities who had visited The Broadmoor over the years. We saw everyone from presidents, sports figures, comedians, musicians to actors, actresses and royalty. We didn't have time to check them all out but we did leave OUR picture to be added as famous visitors in June 2012. ;) ;)

Bella's sparkly toe nails matched the sparkly rock in front of the Broadmoor!
